A more modern way to eliminate defects in the shape of the ears is laser otoplasty. The laser beam is an alternative to scalpel surgery. The laser is able to cut through tissue and affect cartilage, modifying its shape and thereby correcting the shape of the auricles.

Traditional scalpel surgery is inferior to laser otoplasty in a number of factors:

1.   The operation is performed using a non-contact method, since incisions are made with a laser beam;
2.   the laser is able to glue the walls of blood vessels, reducing the risk of blood loss (coagulation ability);
3.   cartilage tissue, heated by the laser beam, becomes plastic. The auricle is easily given the desired shape;
4.   after laser surgery, the patient has much less swelling and bruising;

6.   with the help of a laser, barely noticeable incisions are made, all manipulations are performed with precision;

Preparation for surgery and postoperative period

It is also not recommended to visit the pool or bathhouse for a month, and you should also limit your sports activities. The auricles will heal completely in six months.
