MRI has a high informative value and is absolutely safe for the body, which allows for a wide range of studies of almost all organs and systems, both in adults and children. - diagnostics of the musculoskeletal system: pelvis and its joints, tomography of the knee joint, shoulder joint, neck and other areas;

- diagnosis of diseases of internal organs;
- oncology.

Contraindications to the use of MRI:
- presence of metal: artificial heart valves, cochlear implants, pacemakers, fixing screws in the leg, back, knee and other areas, fragments;
- first trimester of pregnancy (exceptions);
- severe kidney pathologies (in the case of contrast MRI);
- claustrophobia;
- some mental illnesses;
- conditions that prevent the patient from remaining motionless.

MRI Types at HBMedical
Although magnetic resonance imaging equipment can be divided into two types – closed type and open type, we use exclusively closed type MRI and we will explain why below.
Closed equipment takes up less space and is oriented to a standard MRI room. This type is most often used in medical centers in Ukraine and is considered the gold standard of diagnostics. However, in a certain category of patients, it can cause attacks of claustrophobia, which makes an accurate examination impossible.
Open MRI is equipment that was created because of the patient’s fear of enclosed spaces. It has no walls on all sides, so the risk of developing claustrophobia is minimal. But they are not as accurate as closed-type MRI. And because open MRI has a less powerful magnetic field, not all areas of the examination can be scanned informatively.
A separate category of studies is MRI with contrast. A special substance is injected into the patient’s bloodstream. Under the influence of a magnetic field, it darkens the image, thus more accurately visualizing anatomical structures: vessels, tumors, soft tissues.
How much does MRI with and without contrast cost

Which is better, MRI or CT?
You can't directly compare these two methods. Each of them is used in its own situations, on the recommendation of a doctor.
How often can an MRI be done?
The recommended frequency of the procedure is once a year. In some cases, it is allowed to perform MRI 2-3 times.
How is an MRI done?
The patient is placed motionless on a movable base. Gradually, the device immerses the body inside the apparatus - the study takes place. During the procedure, sounds of various nature will be heard. During the stimulation of the nerve centers, you can feel a slight tingling sensation on the body. The duration of the procedure is from 20 to 40 minutes.
What does an MRI show?
